It's 1995 and Evan has embarked on an adventure. When this relative innocent lands in San Francisco from Dublin with his boyhood friend, Milo, the city is on the cusp of a revolution: the Internet is booming (the launch of Windows 95 heralds a new dawn) and the rave scene (and the drugs that go with it) begins to succeed the old world of Deadheads dropping acid on Haight Street.
Evan spends his days looking for work and his evening crawling the city's bars and clubs until finally, a chance encounter lands him a job at ForwardSlash. This new dot com company is run by charismatic Sam Couples, a surrogate father figure but also the object of very confused emotions for the naïve Ethan. Life begins to look up - until Milo's ex-girlfriend arrives, reminding him of their own brief encounter and dragging the past over with her...
